"WHERE DO THE CHILDREN PLAY?"

Playground Play Structure
Fundraiser

Our Integral Elementary School (IES) has just started its third year of operation, and is in dire need of a playground structure for the children. Exercise and learning through play are central aspects of child development. The current playground area consists of an asphalt parking lot and a small sand box. While this encourages a lot of imaginative play, the anticipated playground equipment offers a permanent structure that will provide much needed physical and social/emotional developmental opportunities for the children. We are looking for support in funding this expensive but necessary school feature. There are 6 levels of sponsorship available for our “Where do the Children Play” fundraising campaign, which are detailed in our Playground Proposal document (download here), including details of the benefits for YOU at each level.

Members, Dan Spinner, Carla Gerstein, Mrunalini Patel, Prapanna Smith

Goals: The purpose of this campaign is to provide the necessary resources for the second phase of the CIE plan, the launching of the first Integral Elementary School in the USA that is based upon the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

Campaign Case Statement: The committee has written a Case Statement in support of this campaign. This document addresses the financial history and past success of CIE, details projections for future growth and development, and outlines a four-year budget for the organization. Specific expenditures for creating the infrastructure for the K-6 Integral Education program at the Integral Elementary School of La Jolla is also provided. The Case Statement, in PDF format, can be made available upon request.

Donor Recognition Program:

We will honor all organizations, foundations, and individuals who have, and continue to, support our work. Therefore, CIE has created a Donor Recognition Program to acknowledge all contributors - past and present - that have demonstrated, through their financial contributions, a meaningful commitment to this special vision for education. There are several ways we are expressing our appreciation to our supporters. These include:

A Giving Tree in each of the two school sites, appropriately placed in an area of high visibility, that lists and honors the members of several Giving Circles: Founders, Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

A listing of all the members of the Giving Circles published, and continually updated, on our CIE website.

The naming of buildings and rooms with honorary plaques placed in high visibility areas.

Events and press coverage.

Lead donors to be invited to sit on Mirra Aditi Foundation committee to approve funding for other projects.
